The Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust collects and preserves artifacts, photographs, ephemera, film footage, and testimonies that tell a multifaceted history of Jewish life before, during, and after the Holocaust. The Collections Online provides ongoing public access to our permanent collection. 

Family photographs illuminate a vibrant, diverse, and flourishing Jewish world before World War II.  Heirloom candlesticks, traditional garments, and Hanukkah lamps showcase the richness of tradition. Visas, passports, and ship tickets tell stories of escape, survival, and military service. Oral histories capture the invaluable firsthand accounts of Holocaust survivors. Examples of Nazi propaganda show the mechanisms and manipulations of an authoritarian regime. Taken together, these excerpts of daily life uncover stories of individual agency, perseverance, trauma, and triumph. 

Our database is constantly evolving. A team of museum staff and experts continue to add new records and edit existing ones. Some entries may not reflect the current state of knowledge or pedagogy.
