NotesLeon W. Harris (donor's father, b. NYC 12/18/15 - d. 1998), entered the US Army Air Force on 1/26/42 as a Private. Trained as a clerk, he reached the rank of Technical Sergeant. He served at the 1347 AAF Base Unit of the India China Division Air Transport Command in Shamshernagar, India. During most of his service, Mr. Harris acted as a lay-chaplain organizing Jewish religious activities and prayer. Mr. Harris was honorably discharged on 1/9/46.
