Object DescriptionSilver kiddush cup which was brought to the Chechelnik Ghetto in the Ukraine by Berl and Lota Landau who were deported from Bukovina. The ghetto was a part of Transnistria, a Romanian occupied area of the Ukraine where Romanian authorities deported Jews from Bessarabia (Moldavia) and Bukovina. The Landaus were settled in the Volkhovitser family’s household. The cup was used for Passover celebration in the ghetto. After liberation the cup was given to Perl Volkhovitser by the Landaus as a gift. On the back of the cup there are two hallmarks. The upper hallmark has the number “84.” The second hallmark has inscription in Russian “F.RK.”
