Object Description[Living Room] The etching was done, postwar, by Leo Haas based on his experiences and earlier work done while he was interned at Terezin. Two sides of a building are visible. In the front, once a store front, through a broken window can be seen people sitting around, heads hung low. Along the sidewalk, in front walks a blind or just old man with a cane. He is wearing a suit, hat and an armband. He is approaching a young child who appears to be undernourished and practically naked, sitting on the ground. On the side of the building two men are busy with a dead body that has been put on a stretcher and covered. Probably done in East Germany. Keywords
