Object DescriptionGemaelde von [painted by] W. Strnowsti. Nach einer photographie von Gustav Schauer in Berlin. From unknown source, probably Leipziger Illustrirte Zeitung, p. 913. A short article on the reverse. Below street level, between a bridge and what is probably a mill men stand in long black robes by the edge of rushing water. All are carrying prayer books. Most of the men have beards. They all wear some head covering. Some are streimels, some are tall fur hats other are more simple. One man closest to the water, probably the rabbi, is wearing a long white robe.Keywords
