Object DescriptionZugänge [Entrances] The etching was done, postwar, by Leo Haas based on his experiences and earlier work done while he was interned at Terezin. The viewer looks onto a road, surrounded by buildings on three sides by buildings. On the right-hand side is a five-story brick structure with an elaborate entrance. In the left-hand foreground is a small, one story, dilapidated structure. Visible behind this, past a bare tree, is another immense structure from which flies a Nazi flag. From this two sides of a brick wall are visible (fortress like) with bare trees on top of it. A guard, rifle held behind his back, stands, back towards the viewer in the road, next to the small dilapidated building. At the end of the road rows of people seem to be coming through the openings in a brick wall. Probably done in East Germany. Collections
