Object Description“Hachomah: [the wall] Inyenei Bitachon V’Haganah [issues of security and self-defense]” printed newsletter in Hebrew, no date. An open letter to Jews, with the first line, “The government of Eretz Yisrael turned the Sharon and Emek Hefer into a battleground.” After the betrayal of the Bevin government the Palestinian government promises British public opinion there will be quiet in Palestine and the Yishuv will surrender. The newsletter describes the recent arrival of 200 immigrants, who succeeded in evading the British, but the ship Berl Katznelson was caught. On Saturday night, Nov. 24 [no year] the Police forts at Sidna Ali and Giv’at Olga that guard the coast were attacked. In the morning, British forces entered several settlements, taking up military positions inside and mistreating settlers, and in response, hundreds of Jews came to help. The British called out tanks and other heavy equipment and declared a curfew on the roads.

The ship Berl Katznelson [original name Demetrios] departed from Loria, Greece on November 16, 1945 and landed in Shapaim, Palestine on November 22, 1945. 211 survivors caught. May be a newsletter published by the Neturei Karta- see EJ 2nd ed., vol. 15 pp 114-115: Neturei Karta is a group of ultra-religious extremists who do not recognize the State of Israel. The group’s founders broke away from Agudat Israel in 1935. The newspaper Ha-Homah began to appear in 1944.
